Our Central Ashanti Gold Project (formerly referred to as the Ayanfuri Gold Project) has Reserves of 3.3 million ounces (Moz) of gold, plus 4.3Moz Measured and Indicated gold resources and 1.7 Inferred gold resources. A further 0.66Moz of Reserves, 1.4Moz of Indicated gold resources and 0.52Moz Inferred gold resources are held on our other West African projects (Grumesa and Tengrela).
We are on schedule to start production from the Central Ashanti Gold Project in the 3rd Quarter of 2011 and are targeting production at Tengrela, in the Ivory Coast, by end of 2012.

Central Ashanti Gold Limited (‘CAGL’) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Perseus Mining Limited, a company listed on the Australian and Toronto Stock Exchanges. The Company is developing the Central Ashanti Gold Project near Ayanfuri in the Central Region of Ghana. The project has an expected mine life of 10 years.
Job Description
The Plant Metallurgist, reporting to the Chief Metallurgist, will be responsible for the metallurgical performance of the Process Plant at the Central Ashanti Gold Project, located near Ayanfuri.
The responsibilities for the position include but are not limited to:-
* Monitor metallurgical parameters to ensure maximum gold recovery;
* Assist in reagents monitoring and usage levels in all sections of the plant;
* Oversee metallurgical test programs and assist in implementing process changes to enhance plant performance;
* Assist with the development of operational budgets and forecast; and
* Train plant operators on basic metallurgical practices – correct way of sampling, monitoring of control parameters etc
The position is site based and the Company offers a competitive remuneration package commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience
Required Skills or Experience
* The successful applicant will have Degree or a minimum of HND in Metallurgy and 5 years professional work experience in Processing Plant of large-scale gold processing operations with at least 3 years recent experience in a similar role
