The Republic of Ghana, located in the center of West Africa’s southern coast, is bordered by Côte d’Ivoire to the west, Burkina Faso to the north, Togo to the east, and the Gulf of Guinea and Atlantic Ocean to the south. The Volta River flows into Ghana from Burkina Faso and empties into the Atlantic near the Togo border. Lake Volta, the world’s largest man-made lake, lies in the eastern half of the country, encompassing nearly 3,300 square miles. A series of lowlands known as the Kwahu Plateau occupy the south-central region, while the Ashanti Uplands, a heavily forested, tropical area, extend along the western border with Côte d’Ivoire. Ghana’s climate is tropical, with warm, humid weather in the south and hot, dry conditions in the north. Natural resources include gold, timber, diamonds, fish, rubber, hydropower, petroleum, silver, salt, and limestone.

Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist (House at Ghana Health Service within NTDCP)

Job Description:
World Vision is looking for highly qualified and motivated persons for the position of Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist for Neglected Tropical Diseases Control Program (NTDCP) in he Head Office. The above position is pending funding.

Job Summary:

To provide coordination and leadership for monitoring and evaluation. The M&E Specialist will be responsible to asses and strengthen the NTDCP M&E systems and tools and build capacity at all levels for effective and correct use

    * Plan and oversee M&E activities ensuring effective use of data in decision-making and Strengthen the overall framework for NTDCP M&E and ensure linkage to DHMIS
    * Oversee and execute M&E activities included in the Annual Work Plan, with particular focus on results and impacts as well as in lesson learning
    * Design and implement a system to identify, analyze, document and disseminate lessons learned
 
Job Requirements:

    * Advance Degree in public health, health sciences, or the social sciences with three (3) years field based work experience in conducting M&E on large, multi-regional public-health programs
    * Working experience with the Ghana Health Service and knowledge of US Government M&E expectations preferred
    * Strong knowledge of M&E methods and approaches (including quantitative, qualitative and participatory)
    * Proven ability to Plan, design and implement M&E systems, tools, and guides
    * Strong facilitation, report writing and communications skills
    * Good computer – data management and analytical skills. Advanced knowledge of excel will be an advantage
    * The preferred candidate must be a committed Christian
