THE KUMAWUMAN Rural Bank, the sixth rural bank to be established in the region, and the 45th in Ghana, has marked the 25th milestone of its establishment in 1982, with an Annual General Meeting of shareholders at the weekend in Kumawu.
The bank has six branches and agencies at Bodomase, Drobonso, Effiduase, Bomso, Ahensan and Amakom, with a customer base of 36,902.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, said that from a modest total deposit of GH¢923.38 as at the end of 1983, the deposit liabilities of the bank registered significant increases in the subsequent years, to GH¢4,010,256 as at December last year.Dr. Duffuor, a former Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG), indicated that the performance of the bank during the year 2007 was highly impressive, as it posted pre-tax profit of GH¢121,606.
