IBIS was established in Ghana in 2001 and currently runs a portfolio of programmes in the areas of governance, education, human rights and democratisation, and capacity development; it would be an advantage to have experience within these fields.

Job Description

IBIS is seeking an experienced and dynamic Country Director  to lead our programmes in Ghana; the position is based in Accra. We are looking for a results orientated candidate with a proven track record of senior development management and leadership. IBIS is offering you a challenging job in an international and intercultural environment.

Lead and manage IBIS’s presence and programmes in Ghana according to IBIS global policies and strategies
Develop, and coherently overview the implementation of the Ghana country programme
Effectively lead change processes within IBIS
Overall financial responsibility for the country programme
Facilitate co-ordination and communication with IBIS Head Office in Denmark and other IBIS national programmes in Africa and Latin America
Secure IBIS’s position regarding fundraising and international donor
Co-ordinate with multiple agencies particularly the national and international donors
Co-ordinate with multiple agencies particularly the national and international NGO community
Lead a team of 50 employees

Required Skills or Experience

University degree (master’s level) in Social Science, Political/International Studies, Law or similar field of studies
Knowledge and experience in relevant development practices and methodologies, including M&E and programme development
Relevant senior management experience within a civil society context
Competences in financial management, human resource management , organisational management and organisational learning
Proven experience in fundraising and donor negotiations
