The government recently announced the establishment of the Savannah Accelerated Development Programme (SADA), an ambitious programme aimed at transforming the Northern part of Ghana economically and socially. The programme follows earlier interventions most of which ended with mixed results.
Poverty levels are still high in the North even though substantial resources have been invested over several years now. The annual floods arising from the spilling of the 'Bagre' Dam in Burkina Faso have always compounded our circumstances.
